SEBI Chairman Ajay Tyagi's tenure extended 18 months ahead

  • The tenure of the current chairman of market regulator SEBI Ajay Tyagi has been extended by 18 months.

  • His tenure has been extended from 1 September 2020 to 28 February 2022.

  • Ajay Tyagi is a 1984 batch IAS officer who was appointed as the Chairman of SEBI in March 2017 for 3 years.

Former Maharashtra State CM Shivajirao Patil passed away

  • Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar, who was the Chief Minister of the state of Maharashtra, died during 1995–86.

  • He was a senior Congress leader.

  • In 1995, he had to resign from his post due to allegations of cheating in medical college examinations.

Author Yatish Yadav launched "RAW: A history of India's Covert Operations book

  • Investigative journalist and writer Satish Yadav wrote a book titled RAW: A history of India's Covert Operations.

  • In this book, he has told about the heroic work of the detective agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and his significant contribution.

  • This book is based on the mission information of the spies, the obstacles encountered in their mission, and their lives.

  • RAW was founded in 1968 by Rameshwar Nath Kao.

Manoj Sinha becomes the new Deputy Governor of the state of Jammu and Kashmir

  • President Ram Nath Kovind appointed former Union Minister Manoj Sinha, the new Lieutenant Governor of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Manoj Sinha will be appointed in place of Girish Chandra Murmu, currently the Lieutenant Governor of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Manoj Sinha represented Ghazipur parliamentary constituency of eastern Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha 3 times, as well as the Minister of State for Railways.

Hiroshima Day: August 6

  • August 6 celebrated the 75th anniversary of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima during World War II.

  • On 6 August 1945, the atomic bomb named Little Boy was dropped by the United States on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. After which Japan surrendered to America.

  • The "Little Boy" atomic bomb was equipped with more than 9000 powders of uranium-235.

  • Which was dropped from the US B-29 Bomber Aircraft aircraft over the Japanese city of Enola.

Chhattisgarh state started social security scheme for Tendu Patta collectors

  • The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh launched "Shaheed Mahendra Karma Tendu Patta Sangharsh Samaj Suraksha Yojana", a social security scheme for Tendupatta collectors.

  • Under this scheme, the state government will buy the leaves to be wrapped on the beds by the forest dwellers.

  • The scheme has been started in the name of Congress leader Mahendra Karma.

  • Mahendra Karma was also known as Bastar Tiger due to his tough stand against Naxalites.

  • Those who were killed by Naxals in 2013 in Jhiram Valley of Bastar district.

Prakash Javedkar launches DD Assam 24/7 channel

  • Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javedkar Launched Doordarshan Assam 24x7 channel.

  • He provided this channel as a gift to the people of the state of Assam.

  • This Doordarshan channel will be provided 24x7 by the Director General of Doordarshan Kendra Guwahati, Mayank Agarwal to the people of Assam and with this the state of Assam has established its own Doordarshan channel.

  • He started it with the aim of promoting the development of areas related to human activities in the state of Assam.

IT company Tech Mahindra launches coronavirus screening Mhealthy service

  • Tech Mahindra launched the Coronavirus Screening Mhealthy initiative aimed at enabling task force and community safety against Covid-19.

  • In this, Tech Mahindra will conduct a three-day screening campaign for over 4500 members of the Press Club of India.

America successfully test-fires test flight of Mintman 3 missile

  • The US successfully test-fired a Mintman-3 intercontinental ballistic missile from California in the Pacific Ocean.

  • This missile is manufactured by Boeing

  • A long-range missile, it is also capable of carrying signals and multiple nuclear warheads.

  • Since 1963, Mintman has served in the US military.
