Girish Chandra Murmu becomes Comptroller and Auditor General

  • Former Governor of the state of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu was appointed the 14th new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.

  • Girish Chandra Murmu currently replaces Rajiv Mehrishi, the 13 chairman of Comptroller and Auditor General, who is a 1978 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre.

  • In 1985, Girish Chandra Murmu, a 1985 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, resigned as the Deputy Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Who became the first Deputy Governor of Jammu and Kashmir last year.


Charles Q. Brown becomes America's first black Airforce Chief

  • "Charles Q. Brown" became the first black Airforce chief of the United States Air Force.

  • Became the chairman of the 22nd Chief of Staff of the US Air Force.

  • Brown is particularly known as General Ben Davis.

  • He has also been awarded the NATO Award, Republic of Korea Order of National Security Merit Award.

  • Famous writer and Pulitzer Prize winner Shirley Ann Grouse died.

  • He wrote 4 short stories and 6 novels in his lifetime.

  • In 1954, his first book, The Black Prince, was published.

  • Shirley was given the Pulitzer Prize in 1965 for her fourth book, "The Keepers of the House".

  • Also nominated for the National Book Award for his book The Black Prince and other Stories.

Indian Railways Launches India's First Farmers Rail Service

  • India's first Kisan Rail service was started between Devlali in Nashik in Maharashtra and Danapur in Bihar.

  • Indian Railways has started this Kisan Rail Service to transport the perishable goods of the farmers.

  • This train is capable of traveling 1519 km in 31 hours.

  • Piyush Goyal sent the train through video conferencing in which perishable items like vegetables, fruits, meat and milk were dispatched.


RBI launches transaction service up to ₹ 200 without internet under pilot scheme

  • Under the pilot scheme of the Governor of Reserve Bank of India, Shashikant Das started the transaction facility of up to ₹ 200 without internet.

  • The main objective of starting this initiative is to establish digital transactions and Internet connectivity connectivity between customers.


YSR Cherutha scheme launched for game changer in Andhra Pradesh rural economy

  • Andhra Pradesh government launched YSR Cherutha scheme for game changer in rural economy.

  • The main objective of this scheme is to empower women of minority castes.

  • Under this scheme, the state government will provide a financial amount of ₹ 75000 to women between 45 and 60 years of age in 4 equal cases of ₹ 18750.

  • The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated 45000 crore rupees to implement this scheme.


Pradeep Joshi becomes the new Chairman of Union Public Service Commission

  • Pradeep Kumar Joshi was appointed the new chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

  • Pradeep Kumar Joshi is currently the chairman of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission.

  • Pradeep Kumar Joshi, who joined UPSC as a member there in May 2015, will replace presently UPSC President Arvind Saxena whose term will last till May 12, 2021.


BCCI canceled the Vivo Title Sponsorship deal in the upcoming IPL

  • The BCCI canceled the title sponsorship deal with Chinese mobile manufacturer Vivo in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

  • Vivo signed the IPL title sponsorship for an amount of Rs 2190 crore for 5 years from 2018 to 2022, which has now been suspended.

  • India has postponed the IPL Premier League to the UAE this year due to Covid-19 which will be held from September 19 to November 10.
