NHAI President Sukhbir Singh Sandhu's tenure extended for 6 months

  • The tenure of Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, the current chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), was extended for the next 6 months.

  • Sukhbir Singh Sandhu is a 1988 batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre who took over as the Chairman of National Highways Authority of India in the year 2019.

Very rare snake sighted in Dudhwa National Park, Uttar Pradesh

  • "Red Coral Cookery Snake" of very rare species was seen in Dudhwa National Park located in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.

  • This snake was first seen in Dudhwa National Park in 1936 with its geological name "Oligodon kheriensis".

  • Which has been seen after a gap of 82 years.

"Balaram Yojana" for landless farmers

  • The Odisha state government launched the "Balaram Yojana" with the aim of providing crop loans to landless farmers.

  • Under the Balaram scheme, the state government has targeted to provide agricultural loans to 7 lakh landless farmers in the next 2 years, in which a total of Rs 1040 crore will be spent.

  • Agricultural Technology Management Agencies (ATMA) will coordinate the implementation of the scheme with the help of 7000 branches of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies in the state.

A 2.8 km long goods train called Sheshnag from Nagpur to Korba

  • Indian Railways created history by running 2.8 km long freight train named Sheshnag.

  • Sheshnag rail set the new record by running between Nagpur and Korba, after defeating the longest railway super anaconda.

  • The total length of the Sheshnag Malgadi is 2 points 8 kilometers, in which 251 wagons have been installed.

  • Sheshnag completed 260 kilometers in just 6 hours.

New virus named G4 found in Hebei and Shedog province of China

  • A new virus called G4 has been found in the species of pigs in Hebei and Shedog province of China, which has affected more than 10% of pig farm workers and 4.4 percent of normal people in the province.

  • According to a study by the American journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), the pandemic is a rare form of the 2009 pandemic "H1N1 swine flu".
