Introduction
Women have been playing a leading role in the Indian economy. Women have an important role in a wide range of economic activities including agricultural work and high savings rate creation. Women in India play a different role i.e of producers of goods and services as well as their domestic chores and wives and mothers. Yet their contribution to economic development has been neglected. 800 million women are economically active, all over the world, however, women paid less than men for the same work.
In order to increase the role of Women in economic developments they need to be empowered-educationally, legally, socially and politically. Empowering women will mean empowering the economy, the society and the world as a whole and for that promote the empowerment and effective integration and participation of women in abolish legislation, decision making and discourage customs that are discriminatory against women, promote effective education, awareness program aimed at changing negative attitudes towards women create technologies which will ensure the stability of employment and professional progress for women workers, take measures which will eliminate prejudices against women and promote the equality in male and female gender.
Role of women in economic development
Women play a vital role in agriculture, industry, trade,sports, education, politics and media. In rural India, in agriculture and industrial sectors 89.5% employees are female. Due to the same level of literacy, education, training, research, entrepreneurship, service, finance, management, information technology, engineering, skill development, labor, planning, etc., there is continuous and active participation in 'production' in the goods and services sectors. it occurs. In this view, India, despite being the country with the highest annual GDP growth, is far behind in the details of growth and development.
Role of Women in dairy production
In dairy production their contribution is 94% and in forest based small scale enterprises their contribution is 51%. One of the most famous female business is 'Mahila Gragh Udyog.' In urban area 98% women are working in various fields. World- wide women constitute one third of the wage labor force.
The India's economy is female-centric in terms of savings, consumption-attitude and recycling trend. The average participation of women in agricultural production is estimated at 55 percent to 66 percent of total labor. Women's participation in dairy production is 94 percent of total employment. In forest-based small-scale enterprises, women constitute 54 percent of the total workforce.

Governments should facilitate women entrepreneurs to take loans from banks, empower self-help groups, set up skill development centers, form cooperatives.In order to fulfill this objective, reservation and preference can be the best option or medium in all areas in the initial phase.
