Current affairs plays the vital role in Preliminary Examination. Aspirants must read newspapers daily. There are many magazines which one should read either weekly or monthly. Apsirants must maintain copy for current affairs and revise it on regular basis. Ranking of India - you must be aware of different popular rankings and India's Rank in it such as according to World Bank, IMF Reports etc. Also you must know who creates these reports, for example- Ease of doing business index report is created by?

International Appointments - aspirants must know about all the recent one year appointments specially related to India i.e. appointment of a person who is related to India or belongs to India.

Awards - all famous national and international awards must been known. You must make list of awards and each award should be mentioned with subheadings like start date, why it is given, first award was given to, recently this award is given to, prize money (if any) etc...

President/ Prime Minister Visits - if any President or Prime Minister or or higher authority visits our country, you must have a detailed information of their visit. Also if our President or Prime Minister or higher authority visits any other nation you must know when this visit took place, why, what was the motto, what MoU signed etc...

Newly Elected President or Prime Minister - you must have the list of newly elected President and Prime Minister of different countries, their parties, its capital and its currency.

New Government policies, Yojanas example Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra Yojana, PMKVY etc.
